“Crowds erupted” to sentencing of Al-Zeidi

KW: This morning, Iraqi journalist and eloquent shoe-thrower Muntadhar Al-Zeidi was sentenced to 3 years in prison. A stray headline on the Yahoo News page says, “Crowds erupt in anger over the fate of the reporter who threw his shoes at President Bush last year.” Though, when you click that is not the headline. And, you can’t find that headline on a google news search.

So, it will be interesting to see the reaction both inside and outside Iraq to the sentencing of this person who said heroic words against the occupation of Iraq and against then US President George Bush.

For now, crowds erupted somewhere – not sure if it meant the supporters in the court, or more widespread.

I will follow the story here.
