About Acoustic Strawbs:
The nucleus of Strawbs are David Cousins, Dave Lambert, and Chas Cronk, the front-line of the classic 1970’s line-up of Britain’s most successful international folk-rock band. “Lay Down,” “Benedictus,” “Down By The Sea,” “Shine on Silver Moon,” and “Part of the Union” are just some of the well-known songs from this group whose mid-seventies albums like Grave New WorldBursting at The Seams, Ghosts and Hero and Heroine helped define folk rock.

The Chicago Tribune heralds them by noting “the Acoustic Strawbs stand out as a band that performs their old material with passion and precision. Furthermore, they have broken new ground by harnessing the power of their electric incarnation in an acoustic setting.” (www.strawbsweb.co.uk for information)

  1. I’ve been a big Strawbs fan, but I’d quibble with “Britain’s most successful international folk-rock band.”

Though they are now in acoustic form, and they started out as the Strawberry Hill Boys playing bluegrass, they were always considered much closer to pro-rock than folk-rock.

That said, I may try to get to the show.

  2. Yeah, there is a pizzaria on 231 that says they make the best pizza on 231. I just reprinted the press release. was to lazy to edit out the hyperbole.
