Chicago 1968-2008: Presidential Convention T-shirts

Front: 1968…2008 Green Party
“This time the peace movement is inside the convention.”

Ian and I had fun working on a t-shirt to express the irony that in 1968, the Democrats held a convention where they would not let the peace movement inside. And, now, in 2008, the Democrats will still probably keep the peace movement out of their convention (Remember Boston in 2004?). Though, in 2008, the most empowered members of the peace movement will be inside the convention — our Green Party convention. No need to be locked outside, trying to get the attention of the Democratic Party. Come to the Green Party convention in Chicago and choose a candidate who truly believes in and supports non-violence. We also put in a line to remember the Chicago 8 (see what a colorful past Chicago has?)

If you want to end the War in Iraq, Chicago ’08 is the place to be. The Green Party Presidential Convention/Annual Meeting will by July 10th to the 13th in Chicago, Illinois. Saturday is the convention day. The candidates for the Green Party nomination are: Jesse Johnson, Cynthia McKinney, Kent Mesplay, Kat Swift.

Please check out our Chicago ’08 t-shirts at our Cafe Press shop, Chic Green. The shirts are a family project, not connected to any green group or campaign. Hope some people will be entertained by them, and maybe buy one to where to the convention one time.

We have created one general shirt, that lists no candidate, just support for the Green Party presidential candidate. We will have these style shirts with each candidates’ names up in the next couple of days. For now, we have Cynthia McKinney and Kent Mesplay (the candidates who have the most delegates in our region.) It takes a bit to remake the shirt and upload it. But, we will do so for the other candidates as soon as we get a chance (peace meetings and solar festivals and lots of stuff going on.)
