Sunday October 10th, 10/10/10 is World Hoop Day (that’s right, HULA HOOPs!) 10/10/10 is also Global Work Day to raise climate awareness and to work to reduce carbon emissions (350.org) to 350 ppm. What does hooping have to do with carbon emissions you ask?!
CleanHeart HoopTroop is hosting a Hoop Day event at the Westcott Theatre, Sunday, 10/10/10 7pm – 10pm. At 9 pm, Howie Hawkins, the Green Party candidate for NY Governor, will speak about his plan to reduce carbon emissions in NY state. Come Hoop for Howie! A sustainable economy requires political will, and Howie’s got it! Howie Hawkins is also the only gubernatorial candidate demanding a BAN on hydrofracking.
On Nov. 2nd, Howie Hawkins needs 50,000 votes for the Green Party to win back a ballot line in NY state. With a ballot line, Greens will be able to run for office at any level of NY state and represent the will of those who believe that NY is overdue for a sustainable economy based on peace, social justice and respect for the environment.
