Rant and request for help: Mercenary marketing

I just realized that one of the organizations I work for is misrepresented, and appears with a wrong address, at Yahoo Local and Merchant Circle. They are factually incorrect on the address, and I just want it changed or removed. But…it is a game. You cannot contact them to complain, unless you: For Merchant Circle […]

Warning! Big danger for public education (NY State universities)

KW: Wow! This is a huge problem. A rich person – a hedge fund manager of all things – wants use a donation as a kind of political bribe, to change the NY State University system to his liking. Egads! More comments after story. This is a huge problem which progressives, leftists, and people who […]

A poem for the fourth

4th of July in a Time of War I want to like the fireworks. Though, they keep reminding me of the bombs. I remember when my mother dressed me up as Betsy Ross, in a frilly and striped, flag colored dress, and pulled me down the street in a little red wagon. I loved waving […]

Response to the NY Democratic Party’s white, white Governor ticket

This article is a reflection of race in the 2010 NY Governor race. The starting point was a quote by Sen. Ruben Diaz about Andrew Cuomo’s actions. Diaz said, “I am glad to hear that our future Governor, Andrew Cuomo has called Rev. Al Sharpton to apologize for not choosing a person of color on his ballot for Governor. At the same time, it worries me that Andrew Cuomo did not take the same opportunity and show a little respect and appreciation to the Hispanic community…”

Hofstra to 1/3 of Voters: Drop Dead, Again

Hofstra has a history of ignoring and/or dismissing third party candidates. At the 2008 Presidential, real, third party candidates were not allowed. This time, in 2010, Hofstra is hosting a “Renew New York Initiative” which is only inviting the two, major parties, and will be aired on Newsday/News 12, ironically, an oppressive media duopoly.

Huffington Post helps create race-issue smokescreen

KW: This is a slightly modified version of a letter I sent to the Huffington Post.  You can see the Huffington Post article, “Sen. Kevin Parker’s Rant On Race Video”, with their ridiculous and off-topic poll: here. Re: Your article and poll about Kevin Parker Dear Huffington Post, I am surprised and upset that you […]

Just for Fun: Ian’s Jacket

KW writes: I always tell my husband that his coat makes him look like Grizzly Adams. We live in Long Island, New York, where a fringe jacket is just not acceptable (unless you are at Elwoodstock or a Folk Groovin’ Gathering.) Though, when we stayed on Bent Mountain and visited Floyd, Virginia, he finally found […]

The Billionth Avatar Post: The Movie Sells What It Opposes

Yeah, I’m showing up really late to the party.  Yet I have the benefit of knowing every criticism of the the movie that has come out from the ultra-left Nativists to the Wiccan-worried Vatican.  I think they are all off-base, but if I didn’t, what would be the point of this post? Avatar follows in […]
