Cindy Sheehan to announce against Nancy Pelosi

Want someone to vote for in November? Want something to believe in?

If Nancy Pelosi does not file Articles of Impeachment against Bush by July 23rd, Peace Mom and Camp Casey founder Cindy Sheehan will run for Congress against Pelosi.

(Tell me where to send the check!)

Sheehan considers challenge to Pelosi

By ANGELA K. BROWN, Associated Press Writer1 hour, 5 minutes ago

Cindy Sheehan, the soldier’s mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to seek House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s congressional seat unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.

Sheehan said she will run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 as an independent if Pelosi does not seek by July 23 to impeach Bush. That’s when Sheehan and her supporters are to arrive in Washington, D.C., after a 13-day caravan and walking tour starting next week from the group’s war protest site near Bush’s Crawford ranch.

“Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership,” Sheehan told The Associated Press. “We hired them to bring an end to the war. I’m not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn’t be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money.”…

  1. Everyone knows that Sheehan would not do s—.
However, it seems that people do not know how war works, or our democratic process works. When you elect a senator you don’t elect the CEO to the world. They can’t do everything, and they can’t do necessarily anything unless a whole bunch of other people want to do that same thing.
The fact is that if Sheehan was elected she would be a complete f— up of a senator and would actually make the entire process of getting our troops out a lot slower because she has no idea what she is doing.

The editor’s disagree strongly with most of the post above. The editors don’t usually take time to edit or comment on comments. But, to clarify, Ms. Pelosi is a Congressperson, so Cindy would be running for House of Reps, not Senate. Also it should be noted that Ms. Pelosi is Speaker of the House, which places her second in line to the Presidency.
