The BRAD BLOG : NY, AK Election Contests Demonstrate, Again, Why Paper Ballots Need to Actually Be Counted

h/t TruthOut Having paper ballots is one thing. Seeing them actually be counted, unfortunately, continues to be quite another matter. But many people vote their fears rather than their values and hope. Polls show that Paladino has no chance of winning. Every time he talks he alienates more voters. He trails Cuomo by [...]

The Audacity to Vote — Green | News | The Advocate

For GPDs disgusted and disheartened, I am empathetic. The vile theater of health care reform caused me to look for a political party that is fundamentally dedicated to the same things I am politically committed to, and thus I became a Green. Though my views on same-sex marriage and “don’t ask, don’t tell” are, shall [...]

Redistricting: Gerrymandering as a Competitive Sport | Dissident Voice

The House of Representatives, state legislatures, county Boards of Supervisors, and city councils are all examples of elected representative bodies that should reflect the views of the voters of the region as accurately as possible.
